8. Verifying the change

After you have 'rolled out' the change, you should wait a bit and monitor incoming incidents. Be sure to track incidents that relate to the change and try to determine if there are incidents that were expected to be fixed. If there are still incidents coming in that should be fixed by the change you will need to reevaluate the change and perhaps look at the end users situation to find out if the change was successfully deployed to his or her work station.

If any of the expected benefits are not yet available you will need to examine if the expectation was correct and perhaps adjust the scope for this change. It is not always true that the benefits you expect will actually appear, but at least 80% of the expected benefits should become a fact with the change for it to be considered a success.
